Day 58: Pinned.

My son, Alex, earned his first Webalos pin today. He is growing up so fast, and I am so proud of him. He will never truly know how happy he makes me.

And onto my other project:

Day 5: After Dark.

I am assuming this has something to do with night life....which I don't really participate in...lol. 

I think it would be a lot of fun to capture some night time atmosphere downtown one night, but for the most part, I am okay with being home with my hubby and kiddos in our cozy little apartment after dark.

Day 57: Gallery.

One day my photography will hang on a gallery wall...

Until then, I am perfectly happy with the way it looks hanging it over my bed.

Day 4: Something Green.

Green is my favorite color. (Kelly green to be exact.) 

I was a little disappointed in this photo, but it has been quite a week, and I am really tired....

But I am 100% sure I will take 100 of photos on green objects in my future photography career...so no worries.

Head in the Clouds

Day 56: Hanging.

My husband managed to get one out of the three parts to the large canvas split-print I ordered hanging. This is what the whole original photo looks like:

Here is the first part hanging above our new bed:

Its nice to have art work finally hanging on the wall....especially when it is my own. I can't wait to see it all hanging!

And on to the silly list :

Day 3: Clouds

Now, its kind of funny that day 3 is about clouds, and on of the first clouds I noticed was shaped like a "3."

But in all honesty, I really felt like I rushed this "assignment" for the day. Mainly, because I was running short on time and light; but also because other than the awesome 3 I found, I really felt like I was lacking the imagination I use to have as a kid when looking for objects in the sky.

Even so, I found that clouds are still amazing and beautiful no matter what shape. They are the keeper of the rain, and the beginnings for rainbows. And now that I have gotten all sappy and poetic, here are a couple of other cloud photos.

Underneath it All...

365 Project. Day 55: 4th grade writers block.

It is a daily struggle with my 4th grader son doing his writing assignments.

I know that when he gets over that big hill of fear and doubt, that he will be more amazing than he is now. But right now, it hurts so much to see him struggle the way I did with school work.

Okay, and back to my silly Pinterest list I'm participating in....

So not Original...

First things first. Photo of the day: Day 54.

This morning I had to get up for work around 3:45. When I walked into the living room my heart melted just a little bit. Here were my sweet boys cuddling up on the couch:

Alright, now onto the "not so original" items...

I am trying to broaden my horizons, so to speak, as an upcoming photographer; But on days like today, when my brain is fried from work, It's really hard to be creative sometimes.

So, I got desperate, and a bit silly, and looked up photo projects on pinterest, and found this:

As you can see, today is day one: Self Portrait. 

This is totally not a set of formal self portraits, and I was never satisfied with any of the photos, but what the heck...I did it. And it looks like there is another chance to redeem myself at the end...lol. So maybe next time I will get all gussied up, but anyways....this is me:

Moving Photo of the Day to Blog...

Part of my new year's resolution was to start blogging on a regular bases, and I have yet to commit to this.

SO......................

I have decided to move my photo of the day off of Facebook  and into my blog; forcing myself to blog more consistently. lol.

Today I decided to go chase a sunset.

I drove down this road that I had never been down, only to find my beautiful sunset blocked by trees everywhere.

So I decided to turn around.

I finally found this little turn around spot, and pulled into it. Turns out it was an entrance to a hidden cow pasture.

Still not the most photogenic location and the cows were too far away to have fun with, but I did manage to find this little beauty:

Miss Mara

First, I want to thank Mara for her time today as she so eagerly volunteered to take these photos!

We were racing sunset, so we were not able to get many photos in, but I promised her more time in the future for a few head shots :)

The Lines at Walmart

After sitting through one of my son's art lessons, I decided to go back to the fundamentals of design this week....

Starting with Lines.

I had actually planned this outing to take place at an orange grove down the road, but first I had to stop at Walmart.

Somehow, something caught my eye, and it just led to more photos in the parking lot.

So, while I might still go back to the orange grove, I really actually had fun taking these photos. It was probably one of the most enjoyable trip to Walmart I have ever had.
